Joel Griffin served his community as a marine, a small-business owner, and a community advocate—and now he is continuing to serve his country by working to keep Virginians safe from gun violence. As a member of the United States Marine Corps, Griffin carried an assault weapon as part of his job, and he knows exactly how powerful they can be. Because of his experience, he is uniquely qualified to say that these types of weapons have no place on our streets, and he’s proud to have made commonsense gun safety reform a core part of his platform. In Richmond, Griffin will push to expand background checks, require safe storage of firearms, and prohibit the sale and manufacture of ghost guns. As a responsible gun owner, he knows that these measures won’t violate anyone’s Second Amendment rights—they will simply make communities across the Commonwealth safer for our children and families. With the gun safety majority in the Virginia Senate on the line this fall, it is imperative that voters elect champions in the fight to save lives to office, like Joel Griffin.
