For Delegate Kathy Tran, enacting commonsense gun safety measures is one of the most effective ways of protecting our children and communities from harm. She believes that parents should not have to worry if their kids will be safe when they send them to school or when they go outside to play. In Richmond, Delegate Tran has fought to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people. She has also helped pass universal background checks, which closed existing loopholes in the law that allowed dangerous weapons to be sold at gun shows and over the Internet without any vetting. Throughout her time in office, Delegate Tran has supported legislation to restore Virginia’s one handgun a month rule and championed bills to ban assault weapons and implement limits on high-capacity magazines. As chair of the Virginia Asian American and Pacific Islander Caucus, she has worked diligently to combat the rise in anti-AAPI hate crimes in Virginia and address their dangerous nexus with gun violence. We need leaders like Delegate Kathy Tran in office to push for meaningful reforms—our children and families can’t wait. We must reelect her this November, and we look forward to working with her to build a safer Virginia for all.
We are proud to endorse Kathy Tran for the Virginia House of Delegates.
