Rob Banse knows that a legislator’s top priority should always be the safety of their community. As everyday shootings continue to tear lives and families apart across the Commonwealth, he knows that we must do more to keep our children and families safe from senseless violence in their homes, at schools, and in public spaces. In office, Banse will be committed to strengthening background checks to protect victims of domestic abuse, investing in violence intervention programs in historically underserved communities, and empowering family members to file petitions for extreme risk protection orders in situations where an individual is experiencing a mental health crisis or may hurt themselves or others. He knows that these commonsense solutions will have a real impact on the communities he hopes to serve—and he’ll always stand up to the gun lobby and any special interest groups intent on rolling back progress. This November, we must flip the House of Delegates and give gun safety champions a majority once again—only then can we continue to make progress in the fight to save lives.
