Delegate Sam Rasoul has a long history of supporting gun violence prevention efforts and proudly advocated for Virginia’s extreme risk protection order law and for background checks on all gun sales while serving in Richmond. In 2020, he introduced a bill to tax firearm and ammunition sales to fund desperately needed violence intervention programs in the communities most affected by gun violence, and he’s committed to seeing this legislation pass in a new gun safety majority. If reelected this fall, Delegate Rasoul is also determined to take desperately needed action to save lives across the Commonwealth by banning assault weapons and cracking down on ghost gun sales. Constituents are demanding that their legislators find the courage to act on this life or death issue—and we must ensure that champions like Delegate Sam Rasoul are sent back to the Virginia House of Delegates this November to finally put lifesaving policies into action.
