Representative Seth Moulton came to Congress from the battlefield, and he continues to serve his country by working to keep Americans safe from gun violence. As a member of the US Marine Corps, Representative Moulton carried an assault rifle every day as part of his job—and he knows exactly how powerful these weapons of war can be. He has consistently worked throughout his tenure in public service to support the many commonsense gun safety reforms needed to protect the veterans and families of his district from senseless gun violence.

Representative Moulton knows that thoughts and prayers won’t change anything, and he has instead consistently advocated for legislation that would help keep communities across Massachusetts safe. In particular, he has supported numerous bills to expand background checks to all gun sales, ban bump stocks, better enforce background check requirements, implement federal extreme risk protection order laws, and properly fund gun violence research. As a member of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force in the House, he played an active role in helping pass the landmark Bipartisan Safer Communities Act in 2022.

Over the last two years, we’ve seen Republicans in the House threaten to roll back progress on gun safety whenever they have the chance. This fall, we must flip the House and reinstall a gun safety majority that will actually prioritize saving lives, and it’s imperative that champions like Representative Seth Moulton are sent back to Washington DC to do just that. With leaders like him in this fight, we know that progress is possible and that better, safer days are on the horizon.
