As a member of the House of Delegates, Travis Nembhard hopes to make his sons proud by working to create a safer Virginia for all. An important part of that work is to protect the communities he hopes to serve from senseless gun violence. For Nembhard, this work is personal—as the husband of a public school teacher, not a day goes by where he doesn’t worry for the safety and well-being of his wife and two toddlers in daycare. In Richmond, he hopes to address the fact that Virginia exports firearms used to commit crimes at twice the national rate, strengthen background check laws, ban the proliferation and sale of ghost guns, and protect existing gun permitting laws. To make this vision a reality, voters must flip the House of Delegates this fall and elect a new generation of leaders that is committed to ending gun violence once and for all—starting with Travis Nembhard. In office, he will always put the safety of his constituents before the interests of the gun lobby.
