Jessie Ojeda
State Policy Attorney, Giffords Law Center
Jessie Ojeda joined GIFFORDS in 2023 as the Guns and Democracy attorney fellow before transitioning to her current role as a state policy attorney within the State & Local Policy team. In this capacity, she offers legal and policy analysis in support of gun violence prevention legislation nationwide. At the forefront of the organization’s Guns & Democracy project, dedicated to addressing the threat of armed violence to democracy and its institutions, Jessie spearheads evidence-based research, contributes to the development of innovative legal frameworks and legislation, and authors reports such as Guns & Voting, co-authored with the Brennan Center for Justice.
Before joining GIFFORDS, Jessie served as a fellow for Councilmember Brianne Nadeau at the DC City Council, focusing on a portfolio of human services. She holds a BA in History from the University of Michigan and a JD from the George Washington University Law School.
