ICYMI: Former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords Serves as Rose Parade Grand Marshal

Pasadena, CA — Yesterday, former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords served as the Grand Marshal of the 134th Rose Parade. This honor comes days before the tenth anniversary of the founding of Giffords on January 8th.

Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords:
“It was an honor to serve as the Grand Marshal of the 134th Rose Parade. This year’s theme, ‘turning the corner’ resonates deeply with me. Since I began my recovery from being shot nearly 12 years ago, I’ve tried to embody the philosophy of moving ahead. I’ve also adopted this mantra in the fight for gun violence prevention that has become my life’s work. It was amazing to come together with people from across the United States yesterday to celebrate the new year and our collective ‘turning the corner’. Thank you so much to Tournament of Roses President Amy Wainscott and to the Board of Directors for this amazing opportunity. Yesterday was a day I will never forget.”
