Gabby Giffords Remembers Survivors, Victims of School Shooting at Santa Fe Six Years Later

Washington DC — Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, founder of the national gun violence prevention organization GIFFORDS, released the following statement remembering the 10 people killed and 13 more injured in a shooting at Santa Fe High School in Texas six years ago.

Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords

“Today, my heart is with the 10 families who lost loved ones, survivors whose lives changed forever, and the Santa Fe community that was shattered by a school shooting six years ago. Schools are meant to be a safe learning environment for our students and teachers, yet our country’s weak gun laws have failed American kids, parent, and teachers too many times. I’m committed to keep fighting for a safer future free of gun violence and free of the gun lobby’s dangerous influence.”
