GIFFORDS: Donald Trump will make America more dangerous

WASHINGTON — Today, GIFFORDS, the national gun violence prevention organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, released a statement after former President Donald Trump accepted the Republican National Committee’s nomination for president.

“Former President Trump has bragged about how he’s refused to do anything to prevent gun violence and save American lives. During his time in office, gun homicides skyrocketed by 34%. We saw him promise Parkland families after they lost their children that he would support lifesaving background checks, and then fail to act under pressure from the gun lobby. He’s shown us his true colors,” said GIFFORDS Executive Director Emma Brown. “Our country is facing an epidemic of gun violence. We know there are solutions. We need to act. We need to reelect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris — the most pro-gun safety ticket in history.”
