GIFFORDS Praises Harris-Walz Gun Safety Agenda 

WASHINGTON — GIFFORDS, the national gun violence prevention organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, praised Vice President Kamala Harris’ newly published gun violence prevention policy agenda. The goals outlined in the agenda build on Vice President Harris’ longstanding commitment to keeping communities safe. 

“Since her time as a prosecutor, Vice President Harris has understood the importance of fighting to keep our communities safe and free from gun violence. As Vice President, she worked with President Biden to break a nearly 30 year logjam to pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. Vice President Harris also leads the first-ever White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention where she’s worked to expand background checks and close the gun show loophole. The newly outlined Harris-Walz agenda includes a renewed commitment to continuing this important work. That includes investing in proven gun violence prevention programs, requiring universal background checks, and supporting red flag laws. We know that building on the incredible progress we’ve made over the last four years means electing a proven leader and gun safety champion to the White House in November and that champion is Vice President Kamala Harris,” said Vanessa N.
