GUN SAFETY VICTORY: GIFFORDS celebrates Congressman-elect Dave Min’s victory

GIFFORDS spent $2.5 million to highlight Min’s gun safety record

WASHINGTON — GIFFORDS, the national gun violence prevention organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, congratulated Congressman-elect Dave Min on his election to the United States House of Representatives. Min earned his victory in a high-priority district. Over the summer, GIFFORDS spent $2.5 million in television and direct mail, talking to voters in his district about Min’s gun safety record in Sacramento. Min promises to be an essential voice fighting for commonsense gun safety measures as he joins the United States Congress — just as he was at the state legislative level.

“During his time as a public servant, Congressman-elect Min has made strides protecting Californians from the irresponsible sale and use of guns. Now, he will take that mission to our nation’s capital. Congressman-elect Min is a staunch champion for gun safety and is committed to expanding background checks, implementing red flag laws, and incentivizing safe storage laws because he knows that we can’t rest until we’ve done the work to protect Americans. As a member of Congress, I have no doubt that Min will be crucial to creating a nation where everyone can be free from the fear of gun violence. Congratulations on this hard-fought victory,” said former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords.
