Representative Chris Pappas has always put the people of New Hampshire first—from his work as a small business owner to his time in public service, first on the New Hampshire Executive Council and now in the US House. Born and raised in Manchester, Congressman Pappas is a community-driven leader who has a record of addressing some of the Granite State’s most pressing challenges—including our epidemic of senseless gun violence—by putting people before politics in order to deliver opportunities for families in every community across his state. 

Like so many in our movement, Representative Pappas knows that while gun violence claims lives everyday in our country, we are not powerless in our ability to keep our communities safe. He believes that we have a moral responsibility to act, and can do so while maintaining the culture of hunting and responsible gun ownership in New Hampshire. In office, Congressman Pappas has supported countless commonsense, lifesaving gun safety measures, including legislation to implement universal background checks on all gun sales and close the Charleston Loophole, keep firearms out of the hands of individuals who have committed domestic abuse, and adequately fund research into the root causes of gun violence. In 2022, he was also instrumental in helping pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the first major gun safety legislation to be signed into law in nearly 30 years which made historic investments in community violence intervention programs.

This race will be one of the toughest in the country this cycle, and it is so important that we keep this crucial Senate seat blue—and we can only do that by electing a committed gun safety champion like Representative Chris Pappas. We know that he has the courage to act to end gun violence, and the people of New Hampshire deserve a legislator like him who will always put their safety above all else.
