Senator Jeanne Shaheen has experience at all levels of New Hampshire life. She ran a small business, taught in a high school, chaired the Town of Madbury’s zoning board, and served three terms in the state senate before becoming the first woman elected governor of New Hampshire. In 2008, Shaheen continued making history, becoming the first woman elected to the United States Senate from New Hampshire and the first woman to be elected both a governor and a United States senator.
