Whether as a public school teacher, a state delegate, or as Baltimore county executive, Johnny Olszewski has dedicated his life to serving his community. Throughout his career, he’s fought to make bold and transformative changes focused on delivering on the most important issues facing his constituents—like gun violence prevention.

Olszewski knows that commonsense gun safety measures are critical to protecting our communities and preventing senseless tragedies. Throughout his career, he’s pushed for meaningful solutions to our country’s epidemic of violence—in his first year as county executive, Olszewski passed legislation that prevents guns from falling into the hands of dangerous criminals by setting security standards for gun retailers, and he later worked with members of the legislature to ban Glock switches in Maryland. If elected to Congress, he’ll be a strong champion for commonsense measures like universal background checks and red flag laws that are designed to save lives and keep our communities safe. He’ll also support initiatives to adequately fund community violence intervention programs, disarm domestic abusers, and take on the gun industry and its dangerous agenda.

With so much on the line this fall, we must elect a new generation of leaders to Congress who are ready to deliver results for their communities and build a safer future—starting with Johnny Olszewski.
