Representative Kathy Manning has a deep understanding of the threat that gun violence poses to everyday Americans, and she has been a tireless advocate for gun safety since her election to Congress in 2020. As a mother, attorney, and community leader, she has spent the last 30 years bringing people together to solve problems throughout her community—and she has continued this work in Washington DC by supporting the types of commonsense legislation needed to keep her constituents safe from senseless violence.

As a member of the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, Representative Manning knows all too well that Congress must do more to implement bipartisan measures to keep our kids, families, and communities safe from the scourge of gun violence. During her time in Congress, she has fought to ban the sale of high capacity magazines and implement extreme risk laws to protect people from harming themselves and others. She knows that we need to raise the minimum age to buy an assault weapon from 18 to 21, and has voted to ban the sale and manufacture of dangerous ghost guns. In 2021, she voted to expand background checks to all gun sales, and throughout her tenure, Representative Manning has been an advocate for stronger safe storage requirements.

With so much on the line this November, it is more important than ever that we protect our majority in the House by reelecting gun safety champions like Representative Kathy Manning. We know she has the courage to act to end gun violence, and the people of North Carolina deserve to be represented by a determined legislator like her for another term.
