Kim Gutierrez is the associate director of coalitions at Giffords Center for Violence Intervention, where she organizes cross-functional, state-based partners to advance support for community-based solutions to everyday gun violence. Formerly, she led the Community Justice program department across a series of local, state and federal campaigns for increased funding for CVI through uplifting the voices of community leaders whose lives are disproportionately impacted by gun violence.
A first-generation Chicana from South Central Los Angeles, Kim’s work remains at the intersection of community organizing, movement building, policy and advocacy. Kim is intentional about moving work forward with an equity approach and heart-centered growth mindset.
