Statement from Americans for Responsible Solutions on Ohio’s Guns Everywhere Bill

December 19, 2016 – Americans for Responsible Solutions, the gun violence prevention organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and Navy combat veteran and NASA astronaut Captain Mark Kelly, issued the below statement today on the signing of Ohio Senate Bill 199, a dangerous guns everywhere bill which will allow loaded, concealed handguns to be carried in public spaces like college campuses and daycares.

“SB 199 will make it easier for dangerous people to carry loaded, concealed guns in school safety zones, libraries, and even childcare centers – putting Ohio communities and their residents at risk. This bill goes against the interests of Ohio law enforcement and business owners. We are extremely disappointed to see Governor John Kasich put the interests of the Washington gun lobby ahead of Ohioans’ safety.”
