ARS PAC Endorses Steven Jansen For Virginia House Of Delegates
May 2, 2017 — Americans for Responsible Solutions PAC (ARS PAC), the gun violence prevention organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and retired NASA astronaut Captain Mark Kelly, announced today their endorsement of Steven Jansen for the Virginia House of Delegates. As Director of Prosecutors Against Gun Violence, Steven Jansen has been a strong champion for bipartisan proposals to reduce gun violence, including closing the loopholes in Virginia law that lets dangerous people buy a gun without a criminal background check.
“Steven Jansen is the best person in this race to fight for the commonsense solutions we need to keep guns out of the wrong hands and make Virginia’s communities safer,” said Peter Ambler, Executive Director, Americans for Responsible Solutions PAC. “We need more leaders like Steven Jansen who are willing to stand up to the corporate gun lobby and stand with the majority of Virginians who support strengthening the state’s gun laws. We look forward to seeing Steven Jansen be a voice for responsibility and courage in the Virginia House of Delegates.”
“I’m honored to receive the support of Americans for Responsible Solutions” Steven Jansen said. “As a former prosecutor and gun violence prevention advocate, I’ve seen the effects senseless gun violence has on our communities. In Richmond, I pledge to stand up to the Trump and gun lobby agenda by being an advocate for commonsense solutions favored by the overwhelming majority of Virginians.
Building on victories in Virginia in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, Steven Jansen is the first 2017 Virginia endorsement by Americans for Responsible Solutions PAC.
