Giffords Endorses Governor Steve Sisolak for Reelection in Nevada
Washington DC — Giffords PAC, the gun safety organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, announced its endorsement of Governor Steve Sisolak for reelection in Nevada.

“Governor Sisolak has never backed down from protecting Nevadans from gun violence. Throughout his career, Governor Sisolak has fought tirelessly to make Nevada a better, safer place to live. In office, he has led efforts to protect the children and families of his state from senseless violence by banning bump stocks, closing the gun show loophole, and implementing universal background checks. Governor Sisolak is a gun safety champion with the courage to lead and we are proud to endorse him today. We look forward to continuing our work with Governor Sisolak to enact solutions that will keep Nevada schools, streets, churches, and neighborhoods safe.”

For Governor Sisolak and members of his community, the fight to end gun violence is personal. On October 1, 2017, a gunman opened fire at the Route 91 Music Festival in Las Vegas, killing 60 people and injuring hundreds more. At the time of the attack, Governor Sisolak was serving as chair of the Clark County Commission, and he saw the devastation of this horrific incident firsthand.
In the aftermath, he pledged to do more to protect the children and families of his community from senseless violence. In office, Governor Sisolak has delivered on this promise by signing numerous commonsense gun safety reforms into law—including legislation to crack down on the proliferation of dangerous, untraceable ghost guns.
Governors across the country are making real progress in the fight to end gun violence, and leaders like Steve Sisolak must be reelected this fall.
