Giffords PAC Endorses Wes Moore for Governor of Maryland
Washington DC — Today, Giffords PAC, the gun safety organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, announced its endorsement of Wes Moore for Governor of Maryland.

If elected, Wes Moore will support necessary gun safety measures like implementing child access prevention legislation to ensure the safety of Marylanders. As an Army veteran, Wes Moore knows the value of responsible gun ownership and the threat firearms pose when they fall into the hands of dangerous people. After seeing gun crimes and gun deaths rise across his home state, Moore decided to run for governor because he believes the chief executive’s greatest responsibility is to ensure public safety. One of the most prominent parts of his campaign is a comprehensive public safety plan aimed at swiftly and aggressively combating the scourge of gun violence in Maryland. This plan includes investing in community violence intervention programs and bringing together a diverse coalition of stakeholders to design a statewide strategy to address the root causes of gun violence. In working to create strong, long-lasting partnerships between law enforcement and communities, Moore hopes to connect individuals at risk of violence with essential resources and interrupt lethal cycles of gun violence.
