Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords Statement on Half Moon Bay Mass Shooting
Washington DC — Giffords, the gun violence prevention organization founded by Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, released the following statement after at least 7 people were killed and at least one person was injured in Half Moon Bay, California yesterday. The suspected shooter is in custody.
Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords:
“Seven people horrifically and senselessly lost their lives today, fewer than 48 hours after 11 people lost their lives in Monterey Park mere hours away. When will this end? My heart goes out to the families and friends of the victims and the entire Half Moon Bay community. No community should have to experience the pain and trauma that comes from gun violence, and California has borne the brunt of this uniquely American epidemic twice in three days. We must not accept this as status quo. Our leaders must take further action to protect every American from senseless tragedy and bloodshed.”
