On Monday, Gabby Giffords took to Twitter, calling on President Trump to acknowledge America’s gun violence epidemic in his State of the Union Address. In her thread, Gabby illustrated how gun violence is impacting the nation, pointed to solutions that will save lives, and challenged the president to tell us how he will address this crisis.
While he began his remarks on Tuesday night by mentioning mass shootings, for the remaining 75 minutes Trump failed to detail even one policy solution to address America’s gun violence crisis. The gun violence prevention movement took note – and demanded that he start taking responsibility for enacting solutions.
