GIFFORDS PAC Endorses Key Downballot Candidates Running for State Legislature
WASHINGTON — Today, GIFFORDS PAC, the national gun violence prevention organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, made key endorsements in state legislative races across Arizona, Colorado, Maine, Michigan and Tennessee. Earlier this fall, GIFFORDS PAC made additional down ballot endorsements in the battleground states of Texas and Florida.
“State legislators play a crucial role in keeping families safe from senseless violence — and with gun laws under attack from coast to coast, we need to elect champions this November who will always put public safety first and defend gun safety laws. GIFFORDS PAC is committed to turning the tide in states across the country to build a safer future for the next generation. With the candidates we’re endorsing today leading the way in Phoenix, Denver, Augusta, Lansing and Nashville, I know that real progress is within reach,” said former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords.
Congresswoman Giffords understands the important role state legislators play in the lives of everyday Americans, having begun her own career in public service in the Arizona state legislature — at the time, she was the youngest woman ever elected to serve her state.
