GIFFORDS PAC endorses strong gun safety House candidates in key battleground districts

WASHINGTON — Today, GIFFORDS PAC, the gun safety organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, endorsed seven United States House candidates running on platforms focused on reducing violence and driving down crime in key battleground districts. The endorsement includes Christina Bohannan (IA-01), Christina Hines (MI-10), Cait Conley (NY-17), Paige Cognetti (PA-08), Janelle Stelson (PA-10), Shannon Taylor (VA-01) and Rebecca Cooke (WI-03).

“The United States is in the midst of a gun violence epidemic. Guns are the number one killer of children and young people. That is unacceptable and it won’t change unless we have leaders in Congress who are willing to put the lives of their constituents before the interests of the gun lobby,” said former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. “That’s why GIFFORDS PAC is proud to endorse this strong slate of candidates who are ready to compete and win in key battleground districts so we can secure a gun safety majority and elect leaders who will put public safety ahead of politics. At this critical moment in our nation’s history, we need champions in Congress who will fight to achieve real results for the American people and take meaningful action to save lives. These candidates have the courage to do what’s right and will help us build a safer future for all.”
